The most historically significant era of North American stock car racing, represented by one of the very first third-party mods created for NR2003 in the form of Aero88 by The US Pits. Older Winston Cup seasons for the Aero88 mod make heavy use of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo body style, while latter seasons rely on the Pontiac shell as a mock Chevrolet Lumina that GM campaigned during the early 90’s. As the community’s 3D modelling capabilities improved, eventually a mod depicting the 1990 Winston Cup season was created to be a more appropriate platform for future 90’s carsets.
